A bespoke ceiling piece by Metakaos, this installation challenges the very perception of glass, transforming a traditionally rigid and brittle material into a form that appears dynamically fluid. The rhythmic, undulating composition consists of 14 separate sections of moulded, textured glass, seamlessly fitted to create the illusion of a single, unified ribbon.
The piece features a captivating ombre gradient that transitions from a rich, burnt orange to a luminous honey yellow. This hand-finished glass texture diffuses the internal illumination into a soft, ambient glow that evokes the warmth of a setting sun.
An impressive feat of hidden engineering, the entire installation is set into a sleek, 4×1.2-metre steel plate, integrated within a minimalist recessed ceiling trough that was structurally reinforced to bear its weight. Serving as a vibrant material counterpoint to the villa’s expansive glass vistas, this sculptural installation transforms the ceiling into a dynamic canvas of colour and light.
