For Villa Alba, Metakaos approached the interior as a continuation of the villa’s guiding symbolism: the rising sun. Rooted in the project’s architectural narrative and feng shui principles, the curation sought to translate the idea of dawn into a spatial experience: one defined by warmth, light, and carefully balanced contrast.
The main living area establishes this language through a restrained palette of white, tan, and warm brown, allowing natural materials to anchor the space with quiet elegance. Marble flooring introduces refinement and luminosity, while a reddish-brown sofa set provides a focal point of colour and depth. Sculptures from the Auspicious Series are placed throughout the space, reinforcing the theme of prosperity and positive energy. A large koi painting further amplifies this symbolism, its vivid tones echoing the movement of water and the promise of abundance, while accents such as a deep red vase add measured moments of intensity.
A sculptural open-riser staircase in wood, framed by glass walls, connects the levels with a sense of visual lightness. The staircase acts as both architectural feature and circulation element, maintaining openness while reinforcing the villa’s interplay between solidity and transparency.
Behind the living area lies the dining space, conceived as a more intimate yet equally expressive environment. A bespoke dining table—supported by sharply angled marble legs and topped with a dark grey surface—reflects the architectural geometry of the villa. Suspended stainless-steel lamps above the table introduce a subtle metallic sheen, balancing the warmth of timber and stone while creating a refined atmosphere for gathering.
In the master bedroom, the concept of Alba—Italian for dawn—reaches its most poetic expression. A large painting of a sunrise bathes the room in tones of deep red and glowing orange, establishing an enveloping sense of warmth and vitality. These hues are echoed in the bed and cushions, creating a vivid focal point against the otherwise restrained palette of white walls and rich wooden flooring. The result is a room that captures the quiet drama of daybreak: calm yet radiant, intimate yet expansive.
Throughout Villa Alba, Metakaos orchestrated a dialogue between architecture, art, and interior detail. Materials, colours, and artworks were curated to reinforce the villa’s symbolic identity, creating a cohesive environment where design, meaning, and atmosphere unfold together: a residence shaped not only by form, but by narrative.
