For Villa Lambda, Metakaos curated an interior environment that mirrors the villa’s bold architectural identity: a language of sharp geometry, engineered precision, and dynamic balance. Rather than softening the building’s angular character, the interior extends it, translating the architectural logic of triangulated forms into a refined composition of materials, colour, and light.
The primary palette is deliberately restrained, anchored in tones of white and warm tan that amplify the villa’s expansive volumes and allow natural light to flow freely across surfaces. These neutral foundations establish a calm, gallery-like atmosphere within which architectural features and curated elements can emerge with clarity and presence.
Within the main living area, a pair of artworks collectively titled Evening introduces a contemplative counterpoint to the villa’s precise architectural language. Structured as relief compositions, the works are defined by a striking interplay between turbulent texture and disciplined geometry. Each piece features a background of swirling, high-relief forms reminiscent of hammered gold leaf or molten metal, creating a surface that appears both ancient and alive. At the centre of this dynamic field sits a precise mechanical structure composed of concentric rings and radiating vertical slats, evoking the form of a turbine or mechanical iris. The tension between these elements—organic turbulence and engineered order—echoes the villa’s own dialogue between expressive form and technical precision.
The two works distinguish themselves through a subtle shift in colour. In one, the central crescent and inner dome are rendered in a deep indigo, suggesting the quiet descent of night and the cooling of the world at dusk. In the other, these elements appear in a rich rust hue reminiscent of oxidised metal or the final glow of sunset. Together, the pair represents the dual nature of evening itself: the lingering warmth of the day alongside the gradual arrival of stillness and shadow. The incomplete outer ring that frames both works forms an open crescent rather than a closed circle, suggesting transition rather than conclusion—a moment suspended between the energy of daylight and the calm of night. Hung together within Lambda’s living room, the duo establishes a subtle rhythmic balance of warmth and coolness, reinforcing the villa’s broader theme of equilibrium between opposing forces.
Above the dining space, rounded bronze light fixtures are suspended in sculptural formation, casting a warm glow that contrasts elegantly with the crisp geometry of the room. The lights become both illumination and artwork, reinforcing the dialogue between engineering and aesthetic expression that defines the house.
In contrast to the lighter tones that dominate the principal spaces, the pool and bar lounge area introduces a more dramatic mood. Certain portions of the walls and countertops are coloured black, creating a sense of intimacy and sophistication. This darker palette acts as a counterpoint to the villa’s brighter volumes, offering a moment of visual pause within the larger architectural narrative.
