Xǐ (禧), or happiness or joy in English, is one aspect of Metakaos’s Auspicious Series—four sculptures that embody the four elements of a good life in Chinese culture.

Xǐ is often considered to be a blessing that any person, regardless of race, culture, or religion, hopes to have. Occasions filled with Xǐ, such as the birth of a newborn child, moving into a new home, family reunions, and wedding celebrations, are often celebrated with great fanfare, with the character often conspicuously exhibited during such celebrations in red—a colour associated in Chinese culture with good fortune.

Xǐ, as well as the rest of The Auspicious Series, comes in various sizes and is available in copper, bronze–gold, stainless steel, and bronze–copper.
